Formelle forudsætninger:This is a required course for fourth semester students of the Bachelor of Science in Digital Media and Design (DMD) Program. 
Læringsmål:By the end of this course, students should be able to develop a concept for a service or product for a specific industrial partner, through:

1. Investigation and analysis of the business context and the needs of your partner,
2. Identification of potential user groups and their needs,
3. Identification of all relevant stakeholders who may potentially be influenced by the proposed concept,
4. Choosing and applying relevant tools and work processes for concept development – in teams,
5. Collaboration and involvement with your industrial partner,
6. Designing and developing a concept, a business model and a plan for implementation for your industrial partner,
7. Testing and iterating your concept with relevant stakeholders,
8. Assessment and validation of your concept, business model and plan for implementation with your industrial partner and possibly iterating the concept afterwards,
9. Presenting the final concept in a concept report for the industrial partner,
10. Finally, reflect on and utilize theories and methods that have been presented throughout the course in an academic process report. 
Fagligt indhold:In this course, you will develop concepts for digital media products in collaboration with a real public or private sector partner based on the relevant theories, methods, tools and techniques introduced during the course.

Course topics include concept development in teams, stakeholder identification, value proposition design, service design, data-driven design, problem identification, business model development, idea generation and testing, tools for visualization, identifications of organization’s internal and external business context; techniques for pitching and client presentation and adapting the concept to a plan for implementation.

Depending on the needs of the industrial partner, the content may also include topics such as location-based services, new technologies, social, cultural, and economic trends, etc. 
Læringsaktiviteter:14 ugers undervisning bestående af forelæsninger, øvelser og vejledning

The total 14 weeks of teaching for 15 ECTS, consisting of lectures, exercises and group supervisions.

Students are expected to read and discuss mandatory literature prior to lectures, participate actively in lectures and related exercises, and work on a designated team-project introduced by industrial partners under lecturers’ supervision in groups of 4-6 students.

Readings and lectures will provide students basic understanding and approaches on related theories, methods, tools and techniques, which are later reflected upon and used for exercises and students’ team project. Exercises include hands-on work with data collection, adapting templates, presentations and creative methods to practice.

Students are expected to take responsibility upon their own learning process, and conduct team projects collaboratively with team members. 

Obligatoriske aktivititer:Active participation on the pitch day with concept pitch and feedback from industry partners (the date is announced in the course plan).

If absent: Individual written report of 2-3 pages of the concept pitch with deadline a week later.

Be aware: The student will receive the grade NA (Not Approved) at the ordinary exam, if the mandatory activities are not approved. 
Eksamensform og -beskrivelse:D1G Aflevering med mundtlig eksamen baseret på projekt i gruppe. Delt ansvar for projekt., (7-scale, external exam)

You hand in a group project in the form of a concept report and a process report, and afterwards attend an oral group examination based on the two reports.

Submission: 10 pages concept report and 15-20 pages academic process report pr. group. One group will be 5-6 students.

Duration of oral exam: 20 minutes per student in the group (incl. assessment and feedback). Group exam type: Group exam.
